The positions are located at NAVSTA ROTA, Child and Youth Program (CYP).They are targeted to students who are interested in being considered for temporary employment within CYP. Teens will be hired to work at the Child Development Center or School Age Care.
Duties
Help
Teen hires will provide assistance in the oversight of activities and services to authorized patrons, including general information on the use of facilities and equipment. Assist in the programming, planning and implementing a variety of activities. Ensure adherence to regulations and safety procedures. Work with assigned personnel to ensure that facilities are maintained in the proper state of cleanliness both inside and out and assist in preparing areas for scheduled events. May assist in maintaining routine reports and/or perform clerical and/or general maintenance.

- Must pass a pre-employment physical, provide evidence of immunization, and be free from communicable disease and obtain appropriate immunization against communicable diseases.
- Applicants must satisfactorily complete all background checks in accordance with PL 101-647 to include Installation Record Checks.
- Must be physically able to stand, bend, and walk in the performance of work. Light lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required.
- You must be available for interviews during the SESSION 2 HIRING EVENT on WEDNESDAY, May 27, 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. at the Youth Center Bldg. #3053. Applicants must arrive to the Hiring Fair by 5 p.m.
- If 18 years of age, must satisfactorily complete all background checks for child care positions, including fingerprint checks, a Tier 1 with Child Care check, Tier 3 if applicable, and a State Criminal History Repository (SCHR) check.
- Male candidates who are at least 18 years of age, are required to certify that they have registered with the Selective Service System (Attach proof of registration).
A qualified candidate is 14 years of age and no older than 18 years unless still enrolled in high school and possesses the following:
- Knowledge of basic mathematics.
- Knowledge of recreational activities.
- Skill in the use of Microsoft Office Programs (e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
- Ability to accurately complete written reports and/or forms
- Ability to learn CYP policies, rules, and regulations involving work areas.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to safely and properly use common cleaning equipment and materials.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, in English.
No education requirement.

DURATION OF THE PROGRAM: 5 WEEKS ( 13 JULY- 14 AUGUST 2026)
The NATO Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) between Spain and the United States prohibits the hiring of any person who holds Spanish citizenship and is considered a Dual National by the Spanish Government into any U.S. position. Those U.S. citizens who are considered "ordinarily resident" in Spain are also ineligible for employment by U.S. commands and activities in Spain. Contractors and their family members are also ineligible as they do not have civilian component status.
Some positions have special requirements. Selection may be tentative pending the completion of the satisfactory employment reference checks and receipt of proof of education (where applicable).
Participation in the Direct Deposit/Electronic Fund Transfer is required. Salary is commensurate with experience and/or education.
