Job Description

Location: Jackson-Triggs Okanagan Estate Winery

Role: Winery Cellar Hand

Status: Part-Time, Contract (April 1 to December 31, 2026 )

Compensation: $21 - $27 / hr commensurate with experience.

We are currently recruiting for self-motivated individuals to fill the positions of Winery Cellar Hand based out of our Jackson-Triggs Okanagan Estate Winery. This is an ideal position for someone who thrives in a team environment and enjoys keeping active and hands-on with their daily tasks.

Our winery is a full-service operation from harvest through to final distribution; operating year-round and producing some of the industry’s most awarded wines. Key Responsibilities

  • Fermentation management: Inoculations, nutrient additions, sampling.
  • Cellar work: racking, product transfers, product blending, product filtering, sampling and product additions.
  • Cellar sanitation: Tank cleaning, equipment cleaning, and general cleaning of facility.
  • Follow all safety protocols as directed by standard operating procedures.
  • Work order completion and compliance.
  • Safe operation of cellar forklift and other winery equipment (training provided).
  • Inventory and lot control.

Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong commitment to quality with attention to detail.
  • Candidate must be hands on, dependable, and self-starting.
  • Good problem-solving abilities along with basic logistic skills required.
  • Ability to be trained and work in confined space entry process and procedures.
  • Ability to work outside up to 50% of the time outside, sometimes at heights greater than 20ft.
  • Knowledge of winery cellar operating procedures, including safe handling of additions and cleaning chemicals.
  • Teamwork and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work shift work including early mornings, evenings, and possibly weekends.
  • Ability to understand and perform mathematic calculations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Maintain an organized workspace.
  • Ability to lift 55 lbs.
