Casual Cook - Aged Care

Resthaven: Resthaven On Quarry is a 63-bed aged care home and part of the Apollo Care Alliance, a values-led, not-for-profit provider known for its supportive culture and people-first approach. As a Cook, you will play an important part in delivering high-quality meals and creating a warm, homelike dining experience for our residents. Working as part of our hospitality team, you’ll support daily kitchen operations, assist with food preparation, and ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. Guided by our values, you’ll help enrich the lives of residents through nutritious meals, friendly service, and genuine care.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and present nutritious and appealing meals in line with dietary requirements
• Food preparation, cleaning, and general kitchen duties
• Serve and distribute meals to residents and provide dining room service
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across kitchen and dining areas
• Accurately complete food safety and cleaning documentation
• Follow safe food handling procedures and infection control practices

To be successful you will need:

• NDIS Worker Clearance – MANDATORY https://workerscreening.dsdsatsip.qld.gov.au/
• Valid working rights in Australia– MANDATORY
• Hospitality or Customer Service experience in a fast-paced environment
• A passion for delivering a person-centred approach to care
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• An understanding of the Aged Care Quality Standards
• Compassionate and Empathetic nature
