The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), Digital Services Division, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Analyst II to serve as a senior analyst leading enterprise-level artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives and advanced analytics efforts.


Under the direction of Digital Services Leadership, the Analyst II will help drive the department’s digital transformation strategy by evaluating, implementing, and optimizing AI solutions while modernizing complex business processes. This position leads sophisticated analytical projects, conducts enterprise process redesign initiatives, and provides technical guidance to junior analysts in support of the DMV’s mission to deliver efficient, user-centered digital services.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise-level AI and advanced analytics initiatives across the organization
  • Evaluate, recommend, and support implementation of AI-driven solutions and automation opportunities
  • Analyze and redesign business processes to improve operational efficiency and customer experience
  • Conduct complex data analysis and develop actionable insights for leadership decision-making
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support digital transformation efforts
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior analysts and project teams
  • Support agile project management activities, including planning, prioritization, and stakeholder communication
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and presentations for executive and operational audiences
  • Ensure alignment of technology initiatives with departmental goals and public service objectives


Desired Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate’s relative ability, as demonstrated by the quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of analytics experience
  • Proficiency in AI concepts and machine learning-adjacent tools
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and SQL skills
  • Experience with process reengineering and digital transformation initiatives
  • Familiarity with agile project management methodologies
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex initiatives and collaborate effectively across teams
