The Information Systems Division Network Team is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Information Technology Associate to serve as a technical administrator for network firewalls, switches, routers, and related monitoring and troubleshooting tools. This position is responsible for supporting, installing, administering, maintaining, and monitoring the Department of Motor Vehicles’ network infrastructure.
The selected candidate will collaborate closely with the Network Team to provide advanced (Tier 3) technical support, troubleshoot complex network issues, and help ensure the reliability and stability of the DMV’s 24x7 infrastructure environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support, install, configure, administer, maintain, and monitor network infrastructure components including routers, switches, and firewalls
- Provide advanced (Tier 3) troubleshooting and resolution for complex network-related issues
- Monitor network performance and respond to incidents affecting infrastructure availability and reliability
- Collaborate with team members and other technical groups to maintain secure and efficient network operations
- Utilize network monitoring and troubleshooting tools to identify, diagnose, and resolve issues
- Assist in maintaining documentation related to network configurations, procedures, and operational standards
- Support ongoing infrastructure improvements, upgrades, and maintenance activities
- Ensure compliance with departmental policies, security standards, and operational procedures
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience with network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls
- Relevant network certifications
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, adjust priorities, and meet deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Excellent analytical, written, verbal, interpersonal, and leadership skills
