What You’ll Do 🔍

As a Senior Health Informatics Analyst, you will play a key role on client teams, taking ownership of your work and collaborating closely with our client team. You’ll support important Medicaid-focused projects by analyzing data, building models, and contributing insights that help shape client strategies. The Senior Health Informatics Analyst role also provides opportunities to engage with clients, support new business efforts, and participate in Athena’s broader community. This position offers a strong foundation for a consulting career, with opportunities to advance through progressively challenging roles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain advanced SQL or SAS queries to support business intelligence and analytics efforts.
  • Researching and gathering information to support project work
  • Providing input to the development of effective solutions
  • Creating, updating, and maintaining actuarial programs and Excel models
  • Assisting with the preparation of client reports and presentations
  • Participating in Athena’s strategy meetings and providing feedback on community initiatives
  • Demonstrating a strong commitment to personal and professional integrity while supporting Athena’s mission and values

What We’re Looking For ✅

Must-Haves:

  • 3–5 years of experience in health informatics data analytics roles
  • Advanced SQL or SAS skills required; must be proficient in writing complex queries to implement business logic and derive insights from large datasets
  • Proven problem-solving skills and a strong drive to learn
  • Commitment to Athena’s mission and values
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a remote-first environment
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience with Medicaid, Medicare, or other public health programs
  • Experience with calculating healthcare quality metrics (e.g. HEDIS)
  • Progress or interest in pursuing an actuarial exam track

Compensation Range: $80K - $95K
