Roles that require PVG Membership

Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 10 and above (currently £30,030 per annum / £16.50 per hour)

The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment.

Job Purpose/about The Role

To ensure Accommodation Units are maintained to required standard available to meet customers’ needs and lead the team to assist in supporting customers.

To support the delivery of additional accommodation through B&B and Hotels when it is required.

The shift pattern will be 2 day shifts one week and a day and night shift the following week on a rolling 8 week rota. This includes weekend work.

The Post Holder Needs To Hold As a Minimum

  • Educated to standard grade level or equivalentThe post holder must be prepared to:
  • Lone work
  • Work across the whole city
  • Accompany customers
  • Work out with “office hours” as required
  • Maintain a record of personal development
  • PVG Membership for Regulated Work or must obtain prior to a formal offer of employment being made

The Postholder Is Able To Demonstrate

  • Ability to form, develop, sustain and maintain relationships with customers
  • Ability to work alone and use initiative
  • Ability to write reports and letters
  • Ability to liaise and work with a variety of agencies and colleagues
  • High level of organisation and time management skills
  • Competent keyboard and IT skills
  • Ability to respect the aims and values of our work including a commitment to work with those with the most challenging needs to ensure that they have every opportunity to avoid further exclusion
  • Ability to form, develop, sustain and maintain relationships with customers through which outcomes can be achieved
  • Ability to demonstrate concern for others and encourage others to express themselves
  • Ability to advocate on behalf of customers
