Education

Job Description:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate’s degree or greater in relevant field of study preferred

Work Experiences

  • 1+ years of loss prevention or security experience required
  • Leadership experience preferred

Skills

  • Ability to consistently apply sound judgment and operate professionally, effectively and ethically as an individual contributor and member of a team
  • Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create thorough documentation and interface effectively with individuals at various levels
  • Sufficiently observant; Ability to pay strict attention to detail
  • Ability to understand physical security concepts and learn to operate various physical security systems effectively
  • Ability to assist in training and supervising hourly team members on assigned shift
  • Comfortable with the use of computers and handheld devices
  • Familiar with the use of Microsoft Office programs, including Word and Excel

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a working knowledge of all physical security systems in use by Loss Prevention, including but not limited to: intrusion/fire detection, video surveillance, access control, guard tour management, case management, metal detection, and electronic article surveillance
  • Utilize all available physical security systems to effectively monitor safety and the security of the property and to protect company assets, team members and visitors
  • Investigate suspicious circumstances and respond to emergent situations
  • Determine the severity of incidents or issues and resolve or escalate as appropriate
  • Conduct inspections of inbound & outbound cargo
  • Manage trailer yard traffic and staging
  • Assist in training of DC Loss Prevention team members on assigned shift
  • Distribute and supervise work of DC Loss Prevention team members on assigned shift
  • Promote and drive company safety initiatives
  • Develop thorough understanding of Academy policies, procedures and safety rules
  • Duties may change; team member may be required to perform other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements & Attendance

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear reach, feel, handle, and use repetitive motions (hand/writ/fingers); frequently stoop, crouch, use fingers, grasp, push, pull; occasionally required to climb, balance, and run
  • Occasionally lift up to 40 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to work in a variety of conditions/environments (office, warehouse, outdoors) during all seasons
  • Acceptable level of hearing and vision to perform job duties
  • Adhere to company work hours, policies, procedures and rules governing professional staff behavior

Other Requirements

This position will require successful completion of a firearms- specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training.
