Plating Technician-Weekend Shift- Able Aerospace Services, Inc.

What you will be doing as a Plating Technician:

In this role, you can expect to perform precision plating repairs on aircraft parts following detailed traveler instructions. You’ll handle components with care, apply masking and fixturing techniques, and ensure quality through thorough inspections before and after the plating process. Your attention to detail will help deliver parts that meet exact customer requirements.

Your responsibilities may include (but are not limited to):

• Technical Knowledge: Gain plating masking expertise through Able Engineering training modules, hands-on experience, and standard operating manuals
• Work Instruction Navigation: Read, interpret, and follow detailed work instructions to ensure accuracy and compliance
• System Operations: Use FileMaker software to clock jobs, update operations, and manage oven logging for efficient workflow
• Precision Masking: Safely handle aircraft parts using hand tools to apply and remove masking with accuracy
• Surface Preparation: Blast parts using plastic media and aluminum oxide cabinets, ensuring proper preparation for plating
• Inspection & Quality Checks: Perform visual inspections to confirm parts are ready for masking and plating, seeking guidance when needed
• Plating Process Support: Work with chemicals and specialized equipment to execute plating processes while adhering to safety standards
  
  

What you need to be successful:

• A high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification is required
• 0-6 months plating experience is required
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds is needed
• Critical thinking and strong communication skills are helpful in this role
