Education / Training
Our teachers focus on all aspects of our student’s growth, from Early Learning to 12th grade, to support their talents and aptitudes in the best ways, and this includes their personal, social, and emotional wellness. Our trips beyond the classroom, clubs, and activities across the arts, athletics, and community service shape your child’s character in connection with their academic interests. Students take the lead in their own learning at CDS, sharing their needs and goals as people, and carving out their own path.
The Learning Support Specialist is a key instructional and inclusion leader responsible for advancing a fully inclusive model of education for middle and high school students with mild to moderate exceptionalities. This role combines direct student support with strategic leadership to strengthen schoolwide practices in Universal Design for Learning (UDL), Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), Response to Intervention (RTI), and differentiated instruction. The specialist collaborates closely with teachers, counselors, administrators, families, and external providers to design, implement, and monitor individualized supports that promote access, belonging, and student agency. In addition to serving on Student Learning Profile (SLP) teams and coordinating transitions between divisions, the role leads professional learning, builds sustainable systems and protocols, and uses data to inform decision-making and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is a skilled collaborator, reflective practitioner, and systems-level thinker who is deeply committed to equity, inclusion, and empowering both students and educators to thrive in a rigorous, supportive learning environment.
