Band 6 Inpatient Unit Nurse (Deputy IPU Manager)
ACCORD Hospice is looking for an experienced and compassionate Deputy IPU Manager to join our In-Patient Unit team in Paisley. This is an exciting opportunity for a registered nurse with palliative care experience to provide clinical leadership, support service development, and help deliver outstanding person-centred care for patients and families with complex needs.
Hours: 34.5 hours per week on a shift contract Salary: £41, 668 50,775

Main duties of the role
- Provide clinical leadership within the In-Patient Unit and support the day-to-day running of the service.
- Work closely with the IPU Manager to coordinate the multidisciplinary team and maintain high standards of specialist palliative care.
- Support, supervise, and develop Registered Nurses, Clinical Support Workers, students, and volunteers.
- Promote a positive, professional culture focused on patient-centred care, safety, quality improvement, and continuous learning.
- Help manage risk, incidents, complaints, and clinical governance activity within the hospice.
- Contribute to education, audit, service development, and effective partnership working across care settings.
- Manage the In-Patient Unit in the absence of the IPU Manager.
- Registered Nurse with degree level training.
- Strong knowledge of current palliative care nursing practice, clinical risk, and prioritisation of care.
- Excellent nursing, leadership, communication, and teamworking skills.
- Experience of supporting staff development, mentorship, and service improvement.
- A flexible, motivated, and compassionate approach, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and emotionally demanding environment.
