Vipac Engineers & Scientists Ltd is seeking to recruit a junior Acoustic Consultant to work in a team of engineering consultants specialising in acoustics. The role will suit a graduate candidate or consultant with at least 1 to 3 years’ experience. The position is based in Port Melbourne, VIC.

Vipac is a multi-disciplinary consultancy that provides vibration, acoustics, and other services to building, infrastructure, oil & gas, industrial, mining, and commercial clients.

About You

We are looking for the following skills and attributes from the successful applicant, with an eagerness to learn:

  • A degree or post graduate qualifications in audio engineering, mechanical engineering or similar science degree;
  • The role will involve work in a broad spectrum of technical areas;
  • Experience in acoustics would be seen favourably;
  • Competent report writing skills;
  • Willingness to travel for field work and flexibility with working hours;
  • Strong communication skills; and
  • A team player who is able to work independently when required.

Project Work Will Involve

  • Performing acoustic analysis, modelling, and problem solving on a range of projects.
  • Conduct field work as required with the use of our vast range of equipment
  • Prepare acoustic reports for external clients, with a view to meeting technical and budgetary requirements
