👉 We are now looking for a legal counsel to join AFRY’s legal team in Finland. In this role you get to support AFRY’s business with a wide range of assignments. The legal team consists of 15 lawyers, of whom two are based in Finland. You will be reporting to the Head of Legal (Group Corporate Affairs and Global Industry Division), based in Sweden.

💼 The position is full-time and fixed-term for the end of the year, starting as soon as possible. AFRY’s office is located in Vantaa, but you also have the opportunity to work remotely in accordance with the company’s hybrid working policy.

💻 In this position you will assist AFRY’s industrial business in their diverse legal needs. You will provide accessible legal advice and effective risk management, negotiating various types of agreements, handling claims and settling disputes. You will also assist AFRY’s other business units and foster positive relationships with key stakeholders. Your day-to-day work will also include legal questions from other jurisdictions, and you will work closely with AFRY’s business teams in different cross-border projects.

You may be the person we’re looking for if:

🔹 you have approximately 5 years of experience working as an in-house legal counsel or as a lawyer at a law firm;

🔹 you have a solid background within contract law, negotiations and handling claims – previous experience in public procurement is considered as a plus;

🔹 you have a curious and business-oriented mindset and know how to prioritize legal matters effectively;

🔹 you are a strong team player, who is not afraid of taking on new areas of law, sometimes across foreign jurisdictions; and

🔹 you have great communication skills and excellent working proficiency in both English and Finnish.
