Others

An established and highly respected asset management firm is seeking a strong junior/mid level addition to join their Sydney-based team. This is a rare opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of private credit, working closely with senior leaders who bring decades of domestic and global investment experience.

You will be part of a small, high-performing group that values collaboration, knowledge sharing, and professional development. The organisation is renowned for its entrepreneurial spirit, inclusive culture, and commitment to delivering high-quality investment solutions across Australia and New Zealand. As an Investment Associate/Senior Associate Private Credit, you will have the chance to do end to end transactions in securitisation, contribute to innovative investment strategies, and play a key role in shaping the future of private credit funds. With access to flexible working opportunities, generous training programmes, and a supportive leadership team, this role offers both challenge and reward for those passionate about making a meaningful impact in the financial sector.

  • Work alongside industry-leading professionals in a collaborative and inclusive environment where your growth is prioritised through ongoing training and mentorship from senior leaders.
  • Contribute directly to the development and management of Australian and New Zealand private credit funds, gaining hands-on experience with securitised structures and whole loan investments.
  • Enjoy a workplace that champions diversity, wellness initiatives, pay equity, and flexible working arrangements designed to support your personal and professional wellbeing.

What You'll Do

As an Investment Associate/Senior Associate Private Credit, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the portfolio manager with deep-dive research into privately originated whole loans, mortgage-backed securities (MBS), asset-backed securities (ABS), and other securitised investments. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve conducting rigorous due diligence on non-bank lenders, analysing complex securitisation structures, preparing detailed reports for committee review, and undertaking portfolio analytics such as forecasting and stratification. You will also be tasked with updating performance data for use in client-facing materials while ensuring all compliance standards are met. Success in this position requires not only technical expertise but also strong interpersonal skills; you will work collaboratively within a small team of experienced professionals who value open communication, ethical behaviour, attention to detail, and mutual support. Your contributions will directly influence the ongoing development of innovative investment products tailored for diverse clients across Australia and New Zealand.

  • Conduct comprehensive research and due diligence on non-bank lenders and securitisation structures, providing detailed analysis on business and lending risks as well as mitigation strategies.
  • Perform issuer fundamental analysis on both public and private Australian credit markets including RMBS/ABS, rates, and broader credit sectors.
  • Undertake ad-hoc research projects as directed by senior management or portfolio managers to support evolving business needs.
  • Prepare thorough research documents and due diligence reports for presentation to the Credit Investment Committee, ensuring clarity and accuracy in all findings.
  • Carry out portfolio forecasting activities such as waterfall analysis and pool-level stratification to inform investment decisions.
  • Update strategy performance data within attribution systems, supporting sales materials, client presentations, and external research databases with accurate information.
  • Assist in the creation of new investment solutions by contributing ideas that help shape industry-leading strategies and structures.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all business compliance requirements throughout the investment process while completing mandatory training as outlined in your personal development plan.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leaders within a collegiate team environment to share insights, foster learning opportunities, and drive collective success.

What You Bring

To succeed as an Investment Associate/Senior Associate Private Credit you will bring proven experience from either private credit investment management or non-bank lending sectors where you have developed advanced research capabilities. Your background should include hands-on exposure to securitised products such as MBS/ABS along with familiarity around whole loan investments. A solid academic foundation in finance—ideally complemented by progress towards CFA accreditation—will underpin your technical expertise. Beyond technical skills you will demonstrate outstanding interpersonal qualities: you thrive when collaborating within teams; you communicate clearly both verbally and in writing; you show empathy towards colleagues; you remain resilient under pressure; you display honesty in all interactions; you maintain meticulous attention to detail even when managing competing priorities; above all else you are committed to supporting shared goals while nurturing an inclusive workplace culture. Your analytical mindset allows you to approach challenges creatively yet objectively ensuring every recommendation is grounded in sound risk assessment.

  • A minimum of 2-5 years’ specific experience within private credit investment management or non-bank lending environments or treasury securitisation experience is essential for this role.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of securitised investment structures as well as whole loan investments is required to excel in this position.
  • A strong interest in Australian investment markets combined with an understanding of lending structures, asset classes, product structures including funds and mandates is highly valued.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint along with robust problem-solving abilities are necessary for handling complex analytical tasks autonomously.
  • A university qualification in Finance or a related discipline is required; progress towards CFA qualifications will be regarded favourably.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team demonstrating enthusiasm, resilience, ethical conduct, and a positive attitude at all times.
  • Exceptional quantitative skills paired with excellent verbal and written communication abilities are vital for thriving within a high-performing collegiate environment.
  • Capacity to think creatively while maintaining an unbiased risk-focused approach when assessing alternative options is important for this analytical role.
  • Meticulous attention to detail coupled with strong organisational skills enables effective prioritisation across multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising quality or deadlines.
  • Honesty, openness in communication, maturity of outlook, strong work ethic, and commitment to achieving results while upholding company culture are essential personal attributes.
