Position Overview
The Associate General Counsel will draft, review and revise the company’s agreements which could include, leases, employment agreements, business acquisition documents, vendor agreements, and other contractual documents and advise members of the CareVet team on legal matters that arise. The Associate General Counsel reports directly to the General Counsel or Chief Legal Officer and must be a team player, have a strong work ethic, value humor, and thrive in a fast paced environment.

As a member of the legal team, the Assistant General Counsel will work closely with the Revenue and Finance teams with additional support to the Operations, Business Development, and People & Culture teams to:
- Advise at all phases of transactions including the drafting, review, negotiation, and revision of contracts;
- Work with the Legal Operations Specialist to ensure that the contract lifecycle is managed appropriately;
- Provide advice to facilitate the procurement of goods and services from third party vendors, including during the M&A integration process;
- Prepare legal and compliance updates and translate feedback and needs of our internal customers into department actions;
- Identify and provide training on self-service tools and templates for legal and business colleagues.
- Review and revise legal templates as requested by the General Counsel.
- Excellent social and communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing (Missouri admission required).
- Relevant work experience as a licensed attorney for 5+ years across several industries and/or areas of law
- Proactive and solution driven
- Willing to embrace technology as an enabler of efficient business processes
- Solid experience in providing transactional support, project management knowledge is a plus
- Good organizational skills and detail-oriented
- Quick learner and able to work independently in a culturally diverse environment
