The Role

We are seeking a rigorous and strategic Audit & Compliance Manager to oversee the internal control environment across our client's diverse business units. You will be responsible for ensuring that the company’s vast operations, from vehicle sales to technical service and inventory management.


Key Responsibilities


  • Internal Audit Framework: Design and execute a risk-based annual audit plan covering financial, operational, and compliance audits across all branches in PNG.
  • Operational Compliance: Conduct regular spot checks and deep-dive audits into high-value areas, including inventory (vehicles & spare parts), procurement, and cash management.
  • Process Optimization: Identify gaps in current SOPs and recommend robust internal controls to mitigate risks of fraud, waste, or inefficiency.
  • Regulatory Oversight: Ensure the organization remains fully compliant with PNG’s statutory requirements, labor laws, and international accounting standards.
  • Reporting: Present detailed audit findings and actionable recommendations to the Executive Leadership Team and the Audit Committee.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a local audit team, fostering a culture of transparency and accountability across the organization.


Candidate Profile


  • Experience: Minimum 6–12 years of experience in Internal Audit, Risk Management, or Finance Excellence. Experience in the Automotive, Manufacturing, or Retail sectors is highly preferred.
  • Professional Qualifications: Fully qualified/ CA Finalist, ACCA, or CIMA. Being a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) is a distinct advantage.
  • Tech Savvy: Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced data analytics for auditing purposes.
  • Cultural Agility: A resilient and adaptable personality with the ability to lead diverse teams in an international setting.
  • Communication: Excellent command of English (written and verbal) with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
