Automation Manager – Advanced Robotics & Software Projects

Pretoria

If you’re an automation specialist who thrives on complexity, ownership, and delivering high-performance systems—this is the role that will put you at the forefront of industrial innovation.

Join a specialist automation engineering business where you will take control of cutting-edge robotics and software-driven projects, leading them from planning through to full-scale commissioning. This role is built for individuals who don’t just manage projects—they drive outcomes.

POSITION INFO:

Your Impact:

Take charge of multiple high-value automation projects running in parallel

Own project delivery—timelines, budgets, execution, and results

Lead cross-functional teams across PLC, robotics, and control systems

Identify risks early and make decisive, technically sound calls

Engage directly with clients as the trusted technical delivery partner

Drive commissioning excellence and ensure seamless system handovers

Shape and refine how automation projects are executed internally

The Environment:

You will work in a technically rich space involving:

Advanced PLC systems (Siemens, Rockwell, Beckhoff)

Industrial robotics (Fanuc, Kuka, Yaskawa)

SCADA, HMI, and control system integration

Complex electrical and industrial network architectures

What We’re Looking For:

A strong automation foundation with hands-on project exposure

Proven ability to manage multiple technically demanding projects

Confidence in navigating both engineering teams and client environments

A structured, detail-driven approach with a bias for action

Natural leadership ability with strong accountability standards

Comfort operating in fast-moving, high-pressure project environments

Minimum Requirements:

Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation or similar

3–5 years’ experience in industrial automation (automotive exposure advantageous)

At least 2 years’ experience in a project coordination or management capacity

Willingness to travel locally and internationally for project execution

This is a career-defining opportunity for an automation professional who wants to step into a role with real technical influence, visibility, and impact.
