Research Assistant: IVT/RNA Production

Averna Therapeutics is seeking a temporary (approx 3 month) Research Assistant to join Averna’s RNA production activities. The role is primarily hands-on and execution-focused, with an emphasis supporting RNA production workflows, meeting tight experimental timelines and maintaining meticulous, high-quality documentation.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented scientist or laboratory professional with strong molecular biology skills and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced research environment. Previous hands-on work with RNA is a major advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute RNA production and purification workflows according to established protocols and team priorities.
• Prepare, handle, process and document materials with high attention to quality, traceability and contamination control.
• Support time-sensitive experimental plans, ensuring work is completed accurately and within defined timelines.
• Maintain clear, complete and timely experimental records, including batch information, reagent tracking, observations, deviations and results.
• Analyze, summarize and communicate experimental data to the team in a clear and organized manner.
• Coordinate with cross-functional team members to ensure smooth handoffs and alignment with project needs.
• Work in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities while maintaining careful execution and documentation standards.

Qualifications and Experience

• BSc or MSc in molecular biology, cell biology, genetics, biotechnology, biochemistry or a related life-science field.
• Hands-on experience with IVT, RNA handling or RNA production workflows is a major advantage.
• Previous work with RNA, including careful sample handling and awareness of RNA quality and degradation risks, is a major advantage.
• Industry experience is a major advantage; strong academic or research-laboratory experience will also be considered.
