Job Description Summary

Aviagen Anadolu is looking for a qualified and motivated candidate to join the Poultry Diagnostic Laboratory as a Molecular Laboratory Specialist. Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, this role will be responsible for executing routine molecular diagnostic tests, developing and validating new testing methodologies, and ensuring compliance with ISO 17025 quality standards.

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in molecular diagnostics, a hands-on approach to laboratory operations, and a continuous improvement mindset to support the development of reliable and efficient diagnostic capabilities.

Job Description

  • Perform routine molecular diagnostic tests (PCR, qPCR, etc.) in line with laboratory requirements
  • Apply hands-on experience in nucleic acid extraction methods and demonstrate a solid understanding of sequencing, next-generation sequencing (NGS), and bioinformatics tools and applications
  • Execute nucleic acid extraction processes and ensure accuracy and reliability of results
  • Develop, optimize, and validate molecular diagnostic methods and protocols
  • Design primers/probes and improve disease-specific testing approaches
  • Analyze, interpret, and report test results through laboratory information systems
  • Prepare and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for molecular laboratory processes
  • Ensure all laboratory activities comply with ISO 17025 quality standards and documentation requirements
  • Establish and maintain internal quality control systems
  • Monitor laboratory equipment calibration, maintenance, and proper usage
  • Follow and implement new technologies, diagnostic kits, and scientific developments
  • Support serology and bacteriology laboratories when required and collaborate across units
  • Prepare and report weekly laboratory activities and test outputs to the Laboratory Manager

Job Qualifications

Specific Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in molecular laboratory techniques
  • Strong experience in PCR, qPCR, and nucleic acid extraction methods
  • Experience in molecular test development and validation is preferred
  • Experience in veterinary diagnostics and/or poultry diseases is an asset
  • Knowledge on ISO 17025 laboratory standards is preferred
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Veterinary Medicine, Biology, Microbiology, or related fields
