
AVID Tutor
Position Summary
Middle School tutoring opportunities at Salida del Sol Academy. Working within a variety of content areas with small groups of students under the supervision of a certified teacher in a classroom during the regular school day. Tutors/Interns serve as guides and facilitators of students' learning through questioning, writing, thinking, and discussing. Tutors/Interns may work a minimum of one hour per week, or multiple hours, depending on the tutors' availability

Job Qualifications
- Active enrollment in higher education
- Strong organizational, time management, communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient with computer technologies
- Ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, students, parents
- Ability to use diagnostic data to tailor instruction to meet the needs of the student(s)
- Works with individual students or small groups to reinforce instructional material planned and/or presented by classroom teacher.
- Assists with computer assignments and various classroom activities. Supports individual student’s access to the curriculum (note taking, reading, assistive technology, etc.)
- Administers tests and other assignments as assigned
- Interacts with technology for data entry and instruction
- Monitors students before, during or after school
- Maintain communication with classroom teachers regarding student progress
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Hourly rate $18.00
