About the company

Company websiteFood and Beverage Manufacturing

We are an Italian family-owned food company. And like all Italian families, we take food very seriously. We have been doing this for 149 years. Today we are committed to bringing people closer to the joy of good food and making quality the choice for a better life, from each individual to the planet.

Our origins date back to 1877, when Pietro Barilla senior opened a small bread and pasta shop in Parma: it’s the first chapter of a story of passion for quality, continuous pursuit of excellent recipes and ability to combine tradition and innovation.
Today we are an international Group present in more than 100 countries through our brands: world leader for pasta, leader for ready-made sauces in Europe, for bakery products in Italy and for crispbreads in Scandinavia. We employ almost 9,000 people and own 30 production sites in 10 countries which every year contribute to the production of more than 2,000,000 tons of products.

We work every day to be the most reputable Italian food company worldwide, bringing to the world tasty, joyful and wholesome products - made with selected raw materials from responsible supply chains - reducing our impact on the planet and fostering open and caring dialogue in the communities in which we operate. In 2025, the RepTrak® Company Ranking recognized this commitment by naming us the most reputable food company in the world, confirming the strength of the philosophy behind our purpose: “The joy of food for a better life.”

At Barilla we empower people to live and work responsibly, embracing our value system of integrity, trust, intellectual curiosity and passion. Moreover, we recognize diversity and inclusion as key drivers of our future: that is why we encourage everyone to bring their authentic self to work, in a culture of acceptance and understanding.
