About the company
Company website•Banking
Founded in Denver in 1934 by eight schoolteachers, Westerra Credit Union was built on a simple belief: people do better when they learn, support one another and feel confident moving forward. That belief still guides who we are today.
Our mission is to out‑love every bank in Colorado. Out‑loving is not a feeling. It is how we choose to treat people. It shows up in the way we listen, the way we guide and the way we care, even when situations are complex or answers are hard. We believe our role goes beyond managing money. We are here to teach, guide and support members as they own their financial futures.
At Westerra Credit Union, we believe you can do money. Our vision is rooted in meaningful relationships and customer intimacy, helping individuals, families and businesses feel clear, confident and supported through everyday moments and major life events. Today, we serve more than 110,000 members across the Denver metro area and steward approximately $2 billion in assets as a member‑owned credit union.
Our culture is guided by clear beliefs. We are member‑obsessed, radically transparent, relentlessly collaborative and always learning in motion. We believe people do their best work when they feel trusted, supported and connected to purpose. That belief shapes how we show up for members and for each other.
Westerra Credit Union is proud to give back, donating millions through sponsorships, donations and grants over the past decade and contributing more than 1,200 volunteer hours each year to community and school‑based programs. We have been named one of Newsweek’s Best Regional Banks and Credit Unions for the second year in a row.
