Associate Program Director, Master of Counselling Program

We are seeking an Associate Program Director (APD) to play a key leadership role in advancing academic excellence and fostering an engaged, supportive learning environment within our Master of Counselling Program at the Vancouver Campus. In this role, you will work closely with the Academic Program Director, faculty, students, and university partners to foster student success, promote instructional consistency, and drive continuous improvement through data-informed decision-making and collegial mentorship.

• Build strong relationships with students across cohorts, supporting academic success, professional growth, and positive group dynamics.
• Maintain a visible campus presence to stay connected with students and faculty.
• Serve as a trusted resource for questions about academic policies, procedures, and program expectations.
• Participate in student recruitment and selection, and support the selection and engagement of cohort representatives.
• Coordinate faculty and course scheduling in collaboration with program leaders.
• Lead initiatives that enhance instructional quality by reviewing course evaluations, assessment data, and faculty reflections, and translating insights into tangible program improvements.
• Guide instructors on pedagogy, assessment design, and classroom management, and facilitate regular check-ins to share effective practices and respond to emerging student needs.
• Act as the first point of escalation for assessment irregularities, academic integrity concerns, and special student circumstances, helping instructors navigate complex situations with care and consistency.
• Coordinate core academic operations such as start- and end-of-quarter activities, faculty communications, and incomplete grade management.
• Collaborate with the Director, Advising, Administration, other APDs, and key coordinators (e.g., Capstone and Internship) to support program planning, student progression, and module and exam readiness.
• Maintain and update orientation materials, program calendars, and the student manual, and contribute to major events such as the bi-annual Unconference.
• Teach two courses per year within compensation, and serve as Course Team Lead for designated courses, ensuring curriculum continuity and alignment across sections.
• Contribute to faculty selection and performance evaluation processes by offering insight into instructional quality and alignment with program objectives.
• Participate actively in program governance through committees and working groups, and provide regular reporting to the Program Director on student outcomes, risks, and resource needs.
