Network & Security Documentation Specialist

Location: Sacramento, California (Onsite)

Employment Type: Contract

Role Overview

This position supports an enterprise security and infrastructure project. The primary purpose is the creation and updating of policies, procedures, and diagrams to meet compliance standards. The role involves developing and modifying network diagrams and security documentation based on audit findings.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop or modify existing LAN/WAN diagrams to capture recent changes and comply with Information Security Audit requirements.
• Assess current network infrastructure and compare it to existing network diagrams.
• Document network connections at LAN and WAN levels.
• Use Visio to update or create diagrams showing WAN connections and configurations.
• Use Visio to update or create diagrams of LAN connections for each center or office.
• Create, modify, update, or replace existing security policies and procedures to address Information Security Audit findings.
• Review audit reports for compliance findings and assess existing policies.
• Draft new or updated policies, procedures, and associated documentation.
• Develop a plan to implement new policies and procedures.
  
  

Deliverables

• WAN Diagram(s) showing network and security infrastructure and connectivity.
• Policies, procedures, and plans to address Information Security Audit findings.
• A detailed maintenance plan and schedule for all policies, procedures, and documents.
  
  

Work Environment

The position is located in Sacramento, California, and requires being onsite four days a week. The project duration is one year, with an option for a one-year extension.
