
About The Role
This position requires the successful candidate to work on a W2 directly with FDM. We cannot accept C2C, 1099 or employment sponsorship (e.g. H1-B) for this position.
FDM is a global business and technology consultancy delivering client and industry driven solutions through our 5 core specialist Practices; Software Engineering, Data & Analytics, IT Operations, Change & Transformation, and Risk, Regulation & Compliance.
FDM is seeking an IT Workplace Support located in New York to support a project in the Finance sector. Involvement in this project is anticipated to last initially 12 months but may be extended. This role will be in-person with requirements to be in office 6 days per week (Schedule is below).
Role Overview
Workplace IT Readiness Analyst (Early Shift)
The IT Workplace Support / Desk Readiness Analyst is responsible for ensuring all desks, meeting rooms, and end-user technology are fully operational ahead of business hours.
This role is highly proactive and operational, focused on minimising user disruption, reducing support tickets, and delivering a consistently ready-to-use workplace environment across all office floors.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily desk checks to ensure full workstation functionality (monitors, peripherals, connectivity)
- Test setups using a laptop to confirm display, charging, and network access
- Validate wired network connectivity and basic performance
- Conduct walkthroughs of conference rooms to ensure AV readiness
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware or setup issues before business hours
- Support desk moves, office reconfigurations, and ad-hoc IT needs
- Manage inventory, track equipment, and maintain stock levels
- Assist with laptop lifecycle tasks (wiping, retirement, vendor returns)
Schedule
- Monday–Friday: 5:00 AM – 9:00 AM
- Sunday: 10-hour shift focused on audits, inventory, and weekly readiness
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in desktop/IT support
- Strong hardware and connectivity troubleshooting skills
- Basic networking knowledge (Ethernet, ports)
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working independently
- Strong communication and reporting skills
Skills & Experience
Required:
- 3 years' experience working with Desktop / IT support experience
- Hands-on hardware troubleshooting (monitors, peripherals, connectivity)
- Basic networking knowledge (Ethernet, ports, connectivity checks)
- Experience working with structured checklists or operational processes
Personal Attributes:
- Strong attention to detail
- Proactive and self-sufficient
- Comfortable working in early morning / low supervision environments
- Clear communicator with good reporting discipline
