About Gap
Gap has always been about optimistic American style. Starting with our very first store on Ocean Avenue in San Francisco, opened almost 50 years ago by Doris and Don Fisher. The thread that's run through those five decades is the phenomenal people that make up our brand - our employees and our customers. People who are rooted in the legacy that makes Gap what it is, but who are also focused on the future. People who want to leave the world better than they found it.
We've built our brand on staying true to our roots while always being out in front of what's next. If you want to be part of an iconic American brand, and help lead the way for where we're headed, we'd love to have you join us.
About The Role
About Our Summer Internship Program
At Gap Inc., our 10-week Summer Internship Program is built around how our business operates-fast-moving, customer-focused, and grounded in the work that brings our brands to life. As an intern, you'll step into the pace and complexity of a global retail organization, contributing to initiatives that shape our product, our experience, and how we show up for millions of customers.
You'll be embedded on a team from day one, taking on meaningful work and building ownership as the summer progresses. Along the way, you'll strengthen how you approach your work-using data to inform decisions, solving business problems, and communicating ideas with clarity-while building fluency in tools like AI that help teams work more effectively.
As the summer progresses, you'll be expected to move beyond execution-identifying a meaningful opportunity or challenge within your team, shaping your own point of view, and developing a clear, well-supported recommendation to present at the end of the program.
By the end of the summer, you'll have a deeper understanding of how the business runs, stronger judgment in how you approach your work, and a foundation of experience you can build on as you grow your career.
As a Merchandising Intern, you will gain exposure to the merchant role at a global vertical retailer. You will work on a merchandising team within a specific Gap department and will participate in key milestone meetings and contribute to projects that support the business. Past projects include identifying white space in the market for potential opportunities, running a competitive analysis on product assortment and pricing, and participating in competitive shopping with merchant teams for research and inspiration.
Hourly Rate: $35.00 per hour USD
This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
