Description

We are seeking an accomplished General Manager – Finance to lead the Finance function supporting a rapidly growing U.S.-based retail and e-commerce business. This role offers a unique opportunity for a seasoned finance leader to drive financial strategy, governance, and performance management within a high-growth and entrepreneurial environment.

Reporting directly to senior leadership, the successful candidate will serve as a strategic financial partner, responsible for strengthening financial controls, improving financial visibility, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.

This position requires a hands-on finance leader capable of balancing strategic oversight with operational financial management in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.

Key Leadership Responsibilities

Financial Strategy & Leadership

  • Lead the overall financial strategy and financial management framework to support sustainable business growth.
  • Partner with executive leadership to provide strategic financial insights, forecasting models, and performance analysis.
  • Drive financial planning, budgeting, and long-term financial forecasting aligned with business expansion objectives.
  • Provide leadership on capital allocation, cost optimization, and financial risk management.

Financial Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure robust financial governance, regulatory compliance, and internal control frameworks.
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and timeliness.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial consultants.
  • Ensure compliance with taxation, statutory regulations, and corporate governance standards.

Financial Operations & Reporting

  • Oversee all aspects of financial accounting, management reporting, and performance tracking.
  • Implement and optimize financial reporting systems, dashboards, and analytical tools.
  • Strengthen cash flow management, financial controls, and risk mitigation frameworks.
  • Lead financial review processes and present executive-level financial insights and recommendations.

Systems & Process Optimization

  • Lead the implementation and optimization of ERP systems and financial technologies.
  • Drive automation and digital transformation initiatives within the finance function.
  • Improve financial reporting efficiency, data integrity, and operational workflows.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance team.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, integrity, and financial discipline.
  • Develop finance talent pipelines and ensure strong succession planning within the department.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 10–15+ years of progressive leadership experience in Finance, with significant exposure to strategic financial management.
  • Experience working with international or U.S.-based businesses is strongly preferred.
  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
  • Professional certification such as CA, ACCA, CPA, or CMA strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience leading financial planning, financial reporting, and financial strategy in high-growth organizations.
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP systems, financial management tools, and advanced financial modeling.
  • Exceptional analytical, leadership, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, performance-driven environments.
