In addition to performing Laboratory Technician duties where required, the Lab supervisor will provide supervision and support to ensure the laboratories comply with ISO 17025 requirements. In conjunction with the Operations and Technical Manager, the Laboratory Supervisor will help ensure sustainable performance of SEQ Quarry laboratories is achieved in line with Boral’s values and HSEQ systems and policies.

Your day will involve:
- Provide supervision over SEQ Quarries laboratory operations and testers
- Ensuring the lab complies with ISO 17025
- Training and assessing lab technicians
- Facilitate training of laboratory testers in conjunction with Central Lab Manager
- Provide advice on quality and laboratory systems to Queensland’s laboratory management team
- Undertake internal audit assessments and participate in external audits for delegated laboratory sites
- Minimum NATA Competency of Level 4 or 5
- Diploma in Laboratory Techniques (Minimum)
- Degree or advanced diploma in Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology or similar relevant tertiary education will be well regarded
- Minimum 4 years testing experience in construction materials testing (concrete and/or quarry materials)
- Previous laboratory supervisory or management experience desirable
- Ability to understand and execute ITP’s relevant to quarry and concrete production environments
- Organisation dedicated to health, safety and the environment
