ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Operate equipment and use safe work habits.
  • Meet or exceed production timelines and goals.
  • Install wiring and hydraulics to units in production.
  • Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify supervisors.
  • Examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
  • Lay out, position, align, and secure parts using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers.
  • Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches, work orders, and material safety data sheets to plan layout and assembly.
  • Mark or tag material with proper job number, piece marks, and other identifying marks as required.
  • Position and secure work pieces using hoists, cranes, wire, and banding machines or hand tools.
  • Clean or degrease parts using wire brushes, portable grinders, or chemical baths.
  • Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Able to work overtime and weekends as required to meet production schedules.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or general equivalency degree (GED) preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical wiring and installation.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulics and installation.
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret drawings and prints.
  • Ability to accurately use and read micrometers, calipers, tape measures, and precision measuring instruments.
