- Operate equipment and use safe work habits.
- Meet or exceed production timelines and goals.
- Install wiring and hydraulics to units in production.
- Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify supervisors.
- Examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
- Lay out, position, align, and secure parts using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers.
- Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches, work orders, and material safety data sheets to plan layout and assembly.
- Mark or tag material with proper job number, piece marks, and other identifying marks as required.
- Position and secure work pieces using hoists, cranes, wire, and banding machines or hand tools.
- Clean or degrease parts using wire brushes, portable grinders, or chemical baths.
- Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Able to work overtime and weekends as required to meet production schedules.
EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or general equivalency degree (GED) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of electrical wiring and installation.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics and installation.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret drawings and prints.
- Ability to accurately use and read micrometers, calipers, tape measures, and precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to stand, walk, crawl, and climb for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly.
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
- Ability to work at heights of up to 15 feet.
