Position Summary

The Transportation Supervisor is responsible for the dispatch and supervisory functions for all drivers in a multi-function operation. They will manage drivers, oversee dispatch, complete order entry, monitor payroll entries, conduct after-hours maintenance coordination and resolve problems.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Dispatching through TMW software and complete all order entry for daily dispatch
  • Monitor drivers HOS through PeopleNet and/or Samsara ELD systems
  • Perform driver scheduling, dispatching and load planning duties for company-local, city and spotting drivers
  • Serve as the front-line supervisor for operational and customer problem resolution reporting
  • Conduct regular safety inspections of vehicles and equipment
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, fuel efficiency and driver performance and report to management and customer as needed
  • Interact with customers on load tender acceptance and load coverage
  • Assist organization and customer billing teams as needed
  • All other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain or equivalent education/work experience preferred
  • 3+ years of relevant experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools preferred
  • Previous experience within the TMW & TMS Suites and PeopleNet, or similar systems preferred
  • Prior experience managing a local fleet team and working with an HR team preferred
  • Previous knowledge of DOT/FMCSA standards preferred
  • Functional knowledge of semi tractors and trailers preferred
