Role Summary
We are seeking a motivated Research Associate to support troubleshooting and continuous improvement of immunoassay-based products within Technical Operations. This lab-based role focuses on investigating manufacturing and quality issues, identifying root causes, and implementing data-driven solutions to improve assay performance and reliability. In this role, success is defined by your ability to independently troubleshoot assay issues, perform laboratory experiments and data analysis, and implement improvements that enhance product performance and customer experience.
What You’ll Do
- Troubleshoot assay and component issues arising in Manufacturing and Quality Control
- Design and execute experiments to identify root cause and recommend corrective actions (e.g., formulation optimization)
- Partner cross-functionally with Manufacturing, QC, Assay Development, and Engineering to resolve technical issues
- Generate, analyze, and interpret high-quality data under tight timelines
- Evaluate and implement process improvements to enhance assay robustness, repeatability, and reproducibility
- Support quality system activities including CAPAs, deviations, change controls, and SOP updates
- Other Duties as assigned
- BS/BA degree in life science
- 0-2 years of experience in immunoassay, biotechnology, or IVD markets
- Hands-on laboratory experience (ELISA or immunoassays preferred)
- Basic data analysis and troubleshooting skills
- Strong documentation practices
- Experience with statistical analysis software, like JMP or MiniTab desired but not required
- Familiarity to LEAN/Six Sigma practices and principles
- Experience working on cross-functional projects or collaborating across teams
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
- Detail oriented, excellent organizational, strong communication and record keeping skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to work across functions and within external collaborations
- Onsite position
- Travel 5% or less
- Must be able to lift 15 amount pounds
