A well-established building business is seeking a Risk & Compliance Manager to join their growing team. Operating across Victoria, NSW and Queensland, this organisation delivers complex insurance reinstatement projects for leading insurers across residential and commercial sectors.

This is a hands-on, mid-level role suited to someone who thrives on structure, regulatory detail and improving compliance systems in a fast-paced construction environment.

About the Role
You’ll be responsible for ensuring the business meets all statutory, regulatory and contractual obligations across operations, with a focus on:
  • Domestic Building Insurance (DBI) / Home Owners Warranty compliance
  • WHS/OHS systems, audits, and site safety governance
  • Subcontractor licensing, accreditation and insurance compliance
  • Company insurance portfolio management and renewals
  • Monitoring regulatory changes across building legislation
  • Maintaining compliance registers, reporting, and audit frameworks
This role requires close collaboration with internal teams, subcontractors, insurers and regulators.

About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
  • 5+ years’ experience in compliance, risk or regulatory roles within construction or insurance
  • Strong knowledge of Victorian building legislation and DBI/HOW requirements
  • Working knowledge of WHS/OHS obligations across relevant state frameworks
  • Experience managing compliance registers, audits and reporting systems
  • Strong communication skills and stakeholder engagement capability
  • High attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
Desirable
  • Experience in insurance rectification or remediation projects
  • Familiarity with VBA, QBCC and NSW Fair Trading frameworks
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in law, construction or risk/compliance
  • WHS certification (Cert IV or above)
