We are looking for a Component Engineer to fill a position at our Research and Development Centre located in Wigram, Christchurch.

Role/Duties:

  • Work on the identification and evaluation of appropriate components for use in our product designs.
  • Working with suppliers, purchasing staff, and product development engineers from a part’s selection until its approval.
  • Creating and maintaining parametric data to support component selection for design engineering.
  • Investigating alternate component technologies and suppliers to reduce cost while improving component quality and reliability.
  • Supporting change management with PCN/ECR/MCO/ECO reviews and approvals in our PLM System (Arena).


Required Personal Skills:

  • Detail Oriented / Accurate
  • Integrity – Ability to say “No” when evaluating approvals
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams


Qualification and Previous Experience:

  • Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (or equivalent)
  • 5+ years’ experience outside of university in Electrical Engineering.
