Senior Multimedia Designer
ODL, Inc
Houston, TX
Information Technology, Art / Design / Entertainment
Position Overview:
The Senior Multimedia Designer is a capture-led creative role that brings professional-level photo and video production capability while also contributing meaningful graphic design output. Approximately 60% of this role is dedicated to photo and video work — including in-house capture, on-location production, short-form content creation, and editing — with the remaining 40% focused on design execution across campaigns, collateral, digital, and social channels.
This role requires hands-on comfort with professional camera systems, lighting, and audio setups, combined with sound creative judgment across both production and design. The Senior Multimedia Designer operates as the team's primary capture resource, enabling consistent in-house content output while supporting the broader Creative Services team on design deliverables.
Essential Job Functions:
Photo & Video
- Independently design and execute motion graphics and short-form video assets, including social-ready, vertical, and internal communication formats
- Edit and assemble video content utilizing b-roll, graphics, and animation to support storytelling needs
- Capture in-house video and photo content as needed using existing Creative Services equipment
- Apply working knowledge of camera bodies, lenses, and lighting fundamentals to support efficient in-house production; familiarity with Cinema-style camera systems (e.g., Canon Cinema EOS line) and a standard prime lens kit is expected — deep technical expertise is not required, but comfort operating professional equipment independently is
- Support quarterly large-scale productions; coordinate with outsourced vendors for full-scale video shoots
- Optimize assets for platform-specific performance and technical requirements
Design
- Apply strong graphic design principles—typography, layout, color, composition, and design systems—across static and motion deliverables
- Produce on-brand visual assets for campaigns, collateral, email, social, web, and internal communications
- Retouch and composite product-centric images optimized for customer-facing use
- Maintain adherence to ODL brand style guides and contribute to visual consistency across the team’s output
- Partner with outside agencies and vendors on projects as necessary
Shared Responsibilities
- Translate creative direction and business objectives into effective visual solutions across both design and video work
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing Managers and Creative Services teammates
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy, quality, and deadlines
- Maintain organized files and contribute to efficient production workflows and department SOPs
- Incorporate AI-assisted tools into motion, video, or design workflows where applicable
- Model continuous learning in design craft, emerging tools, and industry trends
Candidate Requirements:
- Online portfolio demonstrating professional photo and video capture capability alongside applied design and motion work
- Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Multimedia Design, or related field; or equivalent experience
- 4–7 years of professional experience in photo/video production, motion design, multimedia design, or related creative roles
- Demonstrated comfort operating professional camera systems and lens kits independently

- Working knowledge of short-form and social video formats and platform-specific requirements
- Demonstrated willingness to incorporate AI-assisted tools into design, motion, or video workflows; hands-on experience with at least one AI tool applied to creative production
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently on time-sensitive projects
- Excellent written, verbal, and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications:

- Understanding of home improvement, building products, or design-focused industries
