Our client is currently seeking a Senior Purchasing Officer. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced purchasing professional who is looking to take the next step in their career and grow into a broader procurement and logistics leadership role within a well-established manufacturing business.

About the role:

This position will be responsible for managing purchasing activities, supplier coordination, inventory control and material planning to support manufacturing operations, while contributing to continuous improvement across procurement processes.

• Raise and manage purchase orders using SAP
• Monitor supplier performance, quotations and delivery schedules
• Coordinate stock control, goods receipting and discrepancy investigations
• Collaborate closely with production and warehouse teams to ensure material availability
• Build strong supplier relationships and contribute to process improvements
• Develop broader procurement and logistics responsibilities over time

Skills and Experience:

We are looking for a candidate who demonstrates the following:

• Previous purchasing or procurement experience within a manufacturing, industrial or engineering environment
• Strong SAP experience, with SAP Business One experience highly regarded
• Advanced Excel and data management skills
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently with suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Proactive mindset with a willingness to take ownership and grow into a more senior role
• Chinese language skills are advantageous but not essential
