Job Purpose: This role will oversee the design, development, and execution of activities within the program. It oversees planning, stakeholder engagement, financial management and quality assurance for the project’s initiatives, ensuring alignment with The American University in Cairo's (AUC) mission and strategy.


Core Responsibilities:

Planning and Development:

  • Manage the design of the project by setting the project’s framework, defining objectives, timelines, selection criteria, and ensuring alignment with institutional priorities

Business Development:

  • Manage relationships with program partners and stakeholders, ensuring effective coordination, information sharing, and engagement throughout implementation in coordination with AUC offices

Project Oversight:

  • Oversee the design, and execution of all project activities including recruitment, training delivery, mentoring, workshops, and public engagement events to ensure timely and high-quality implementation

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, regulators, industry leaders, and community partners
  • Represent AUC in forums, networks, and partnerships to enhance visibility and influence

Budget and Resource Management:

  • Develop and manage the annual program budget, ensuring compliance with AUC financial policies and donor requirements
  • Monitor expenditures and maintain documentation for reporting and audits

Team Leadership and Capacity Building:

  • Recruit, supervise, and support program staff, trainers, consultants, and service providers, ensuring clarity of roles, performance monitoring, and alignment with project goals

Quality Assurance and Reporting:

  • Establish and monitor evaluation systems for all programs
  • Lead monitoring and evaluation (M&E) reporting for grants and gifts
  • Prepare periodic performance and impact reports as requested

Communication and Outreach:

  • Oversee the internal and external communications strategy
  • Ensure timely updates of program’s website and social media channels
  • Lead awareness campaigns to highlight the program’s achievements

Additional Related Duties:

  • Perform other related duties as assigned


Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in public administration, public policy, political science, international development, or related field
  • Ten years of relevant experience, including four years in a managerial role overseeing programs, grants, or corporate partnerships


Skills:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Ability to develop and execute unit-level strategies aligned with institutional goals
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex initiatives.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills with regulators, donors, and corporate partners

Financial Oversight:

  • Advanced capability in budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for multi-source funding

Communication and Representation:

  • Excellent communication and leadership presence in national and international forums
