Here’s what to expect on the job

  • Assist in developing outcomes, strategies, and data collection methods based on the child’s Evaluation Report (ER) and Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).
  • Assess the needs, interest, and abilities of the family and child to determine appropriate ways to assist the family in meeting their functional goals as it relates to occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, physical therapy, or nutritional therapy services.
  • Provide families with individual session notes that include the outcome, strategies used, recommendations, and plans for the next session.
  • Provide updates and information for quarterly reviews and annual evaluations in accordance with county guidelines to allow for adequate planning when determining the child’s continued eligibility.
  • Provide support and feedback to families/caregivers with suggestions and strategies to assist their child in achieving their IFSP goal.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with IFSP team members to meet the needs of the family and child.
  • Fulfill transportation requirements to complete home visits and community-based therapy sessions.
  • Develop and implement new policies and/or procedures within the functional area to support the continuous improvement of operational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Maintain current mandated paperwork to include State license, Child abuse clearance, State Police clearance, FBI clearance, 24 hours of training for Early Intervention, and any pertinent certifications related to your license/expertise.


Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree within a related discipline expected and 2 to 5 years of learning experience within a related professional discipline preferred OR Master’s degree within a related discipline and 0 to 2 years of learning experience within a related professional discipline preferred
  • PA State licensure or eligible for licensure
  • OT applicant only* Board certification from NBCOT
  • SLP applicant only* Completion of ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC)
  • Registered Dietitian applicant only* Completion of an Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) approved program
  • Eligible for PA Promise Enrollment
  • Not on CMS Exclusion List
  • A valid driver’s license and 6 months of previous driving experience
  • Access to regular use of a vehicle with valid insurance coverage
  • Ability to communicate, read, write, and interpret English
