The Be A Mentor Program pairs caring adult volunteers from the community with youth in one-to-one relationships. Mentors give of their time to be a friend, answering questions, and providing guidance. Mentors come from a variety of backgrounds and occupations and volunteer their personal time to be a caring friend to a youth. They serve as a role model, advocate, and resource. The purpose of the mentoring relationship is to help youth develop their full potential, both in and outside of the classroom.

We need your special skills and perspective to show a young person what opportunities they have and give them the confidence to work towards big goals. Interested mentors must be located in the U.S.
A Virtual Mentor is a trusted caring adult that spends at least one hour per week with their mentee using Be A Mentor’s Virtual Mentoring Platform.
As a Mentor, you will focus on goal setting, homework help, and career exploration. While there may be a focus on homework help in the meetings, these sessions are more than just tutoring. You and your Mentee will form a personal relationship to build resilience, social engagement, and a support network.
Virtual mentoring removes barriers of distance, requires no commute time, and can offer a flexible schedule. However, mentors must be in the United States. Due to our current background check system we are unable to accept anyone outside of the US at this time.
