Keys to Literacy

Founded by Joan Sedita, Keys to Literacy addresses literacy in all grades by offering research-based professional development. With online and onsite training options, Keys to Literacy supports hundreds of districts and thousands of teachers to improve student literacy skills.

Keys to Literacy professional development works because it combines initial training with long-term follow-up support. We show teachers how to embed specific instruction into content teaching and then provide ongoing follow-up support to ensure sustainability. Our instructional routines embed foundational literacy instruction across the curriculum, are relevant to special educators and general educators, and support instructional continuity across all student groups and tiers of instruction.
