Overview

About KYDS Youth Counselling

For over 20 years, KYDS has provided free, accessible, long-term mental health support for young people in our community. We exist because too many young people fall into the “missing middle” - not unwell enough for crisis care, but unable to access timely, affordable counselling when early support matters most.

At KYDS, we remove the barriers to mental health support.

✔ Free counselling
✔ Ongoing support - no session limits
✔ Holistic, family-focused care
✔ No GP referral or Medicare card required

Our qualified clinicians support young people experiencing challenges like anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, school refusal, family breakdown, trauma and social isolation - providing consistent care for as long as it’s needed.

As a community-funded organisation, our impact is only possible through the support of donors, corporate partners, community groups, schools and local advocates who believe every young person deserves access to mental health care when they need it. Every $1 invested in KYDS delivers more than $6 in social and economic impact.
