About STICERD & CASE Research Centres at LSE
The Suntory and Toyota International Centres for Economics and Related Disciplines (STICERD), based within the LSE Department of Economics, is a thriving research hub and a source of grant funding within LSE. STICERD brings together world-class academics to put economics and related disciplines at the forefront of research and policy, driving impactful research and shaping policy on a global scale.
The Centre for Analysis of Social Exclusion (CASE), linked to the Department of Social Policy, is a multidisciplinary research centre focused on social disadvantage. CASE investigates how social and public policies can prevent, mitigate, or worsen inequality, analysing various dimensions of social exclusion and the effects of public policy interventions.
In partnership with the Gates Foundation, LSE has launched the Hub for Equal Representation (H.E.R.) within STICERD—a cutting-edge research programme dedicated to addressing gender inequality through innovative research and policy insights.
LSE Housing and Communities, a research unit within CASE, delves into the effects of poverty and social disadvantage, particularly through the lens of neighbourhoods and communities. The team explores how public policies impact disadvantaged areas over time, contributing valuable insights into urban and social policy development.
