About Lucas
AJ Lucas (ASX code: AJL) was founded in Sydney in the 1950s as a high-quality building sub-contractor. Subsequently, Lucas has nurtured its engineering intellect to supply specialist, niche engineering, construction, and drilling services to the key sectors of energy, water & waste water, resources (utilities, coal and oil & gas) and public infrastructure.
With a focus on smart engineering solutions and solid project management, Lucas quickly gained a reputation for solving difficult infrastructure challenges. We became the Australian leader in long distance pipelines and a world leader in horizontal directional drilling (HDD). Lucas leveraged its HDD expertise to enter the resources sector, playing a leading role in Australia’s development of alternative energy sources, such as coal seam gas. We now leverage this knowledge and experience to invest in promising unconventional hydrocarbon acreage, a strategy which has achieved a significant rate of return.
