Materials & Testing Laboratories Ltd (MTL) is an independent Destructive and Non-Destructive Testing provider, proudly New Zealand-owned and operating since 1973. For over 50 years we’ve delivered professional, high-quality and reliable testing services across industries nationwide.
MTL was one of the first testing houses in New Zealand to gain IANZ accreditation, a status we continue to maintain today. We are also SiteWise Gold certified for 2025/2026, reflecting our commitment to safety and industry best practice.
Our services cover mechanical and customised material testing, non-destructive testing (NDT), welding inspection and certification, advanced welding training, metallurgical investigations, and materials consultancy — all tailored to provide accurate answers and practical solutions for our clients.
