We accomplish this doing our own work first, because we can’t take someone anywhere we haven’t gone ourselves. That’s right: your therapist has done the hard work of therapy themselves. So not only are you sitting down with someone who is highly trained and specialized, but who can also truly empathize with you because they’ve been there, too.
