About Mortenson Center in Global Engineering & Resilience

The Mortenson Center in Global Engineering & Resilience at CU Boulder equips engineers to tackle the world’s most pressing development challenges. Through education, research, and global partnerships, we create sustainable, evidence-based solutions that expand access to essential services—water, sanitation, energy, food, transportation, and shelter.

Our curriculum prepares engineers to engage in global development with historical awareness and ethical responsibility. We emphasize anti-imperial approaches, addressing the root causes of inequality while fostering scalable, multidisciplinary impact. Whether students are just entering the field or advancing their careers, we provide pathways to shape a more just and resilient world.
