About n2STAR
As a central research facility at Koc University, n²STAR is committed to providing top-notch nanofabrication and nanocharacterization services and expertise to researchers with state-of-the-art equipment and interdisciplinary infrastructure.
In addition to serving the research community within Koç University, n²STAR also aims to foster collaboration with other research institutions and industries, including through the training of technical personnel. By partnering with other central facilities and industries, we hope to drive synergy in research and development.
The long-term goals of n²STAR include:
• Establishing collaborations with industrial R&D centers, universities, and other research institutions
• Supporting the development of the next generation of leading researchers and faculty members through the sharing of our technological infrastructure and knowledge
• Providing consultation, design, production, diagnosis, repair, maintenance, and other services, as well as organizing conferences, seminars, and symposiums on relevant subjects
• Implementing a management system to optimize equipment use, manage user profiles, and enable continuous reporting and tracking of equipment and facility utilization
n²STAR comprises three major research facilities at Koç University: the Cleanroom Facility (SNA-B182 and B2 Technical Room), and two Central Characterization Facilities (ENG-B203 and SNA-B137). The 760 m² Cleanroom Facility, located in the SNA Building, was established with a significant investment of €4.5M in infrastructure and €6.5M in equipment.
The Cleanroom facility has more than 70 different instruments across eight partitioned labs, including a brand new Electron Beam Lithography Tool, which has enhanced the center’s lithography capabilities down to 8nm range.
All equipment at n²STAR has been chosen to enhance the research capabilities of the laboratories and stimulate new research areas.
