Nairobi Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (NaMATA)

The Nairobi Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (NaMATA) is a Kenyan government agency established under the Ministry of Transport. Formed through Executive Order, Legal Notice No.18 of 17th February 2017, NaMATA is responsible for overseeing the development of an integrated, efficient, and sustainable public transport system within the Nairobi Metropolitan Area (NMA).

The NMA comprising of 5 counties: Kajiado, Kiambu, Machakos, Murang’a, and Nairobi City.
