About NAMI Connecticut
NAMI Connecticut is a leading voice on our State's mental health, working to educate, support, and advocate for people living with mental health conditions and their families.
As the Connecticut affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), our mission is to improve the quality of life across the state by ensuring that mental health is treated with the same urgency, dignity, and compassion as physical health.
We envision a future where no one struggles alone, and where every community in Connecticut understands, accepts, and supports those impacted by mental illness.
Our Programs & Services:
Education Classes: Free peer-led programs such as Family-to-Family, Basics, and Peer-to-Peer for individuals, families, and caregivers.
Support Groups: Ongoing peer-led groups statewide for individuals and families navigating mental health challenges.
Young Adult Connection Community (YACC): A leadership program for youth with lived mental health experience, focusing on empowerment and community engagement.
Ending the Silence: Mental health awareness presentations for middle & high school students, families, and school staff.
Advocacy: Local and statewide initiatives promoting equitable access to mental health care, legislative reform, and anti-stigma campaigns.
Community Presentations & Trainings: Trauma-informed education and stigma-reduction training for workplaces, schools, and civic groups.
We serve all 8 counties in Connecticut, with programming available both virtually and in person.
We believe in the power of lived experience, peer support, and inclusive dialogue.
Join us in building a Connecticut where mental health is everyone's priority.
