The Nursing Institute for Healthcare Design (NIHD, Inc.) is a professional 501(c)(6) association dedicated to integrating clinical expertise into the planning and design of healthcare environments.
We fulfill our mission through education, advocacy, and leadership opportunities for our members.
NIHD champions evidence-based design standards, advocates for the inclusion of nurses and healthcare providers throughout all stages of the design process, and offers educational programs to support our members’ professional growth. We also disseminate innovations and research findings that inform and advance all aspects of healthcare design.
As a leader in interdisciplinary collaboration, NIHD promotes inclusive, cross-disciplinary education across the healthcare design and construction community.
