Ohio College Tech Prep Southwest Region

Statewide Goals Serving two of Ohio’s largest career tech districts, secondary and postsecondary schools and a diverse mix of employers, the Ohio Tech Prep Southwest Region is one of six statewide centers that focus on deliverables established by the Ohio Department of Education and the Ohio Department of Higher Education. The Southwest Ohio Tech Prep Regional Center is headquartered at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College. The region is aligned to the Ohio Means Jobs service area and includes Hamilton, Clermont, Warren, Butler, Brown, portions of Adams and Highland Counties. Services -Engage area employers in pathway development and student career exploration through shadowing, mentoring, mock interviews, work-based learning and apprenticeships -Support curriculum teams to identify credit opportunity, target professional development and facilitate career tech program approval documentation -Map alignment of secondary, postsecondary and employment opportunities considering course selection and expanded postsecondary options including adult education, apprenticeships, certificates and other employment training -Support student transition to college and access to credit opportunities -Collaborate with ODE and ODHE to share tools, resources and provide professional development -Facilitate collaboration between college faculty and secondary instructors to close the gap between college expectations and secondary student preparation -Expand student access to multiple postsecondary options Career Technical Planning District Stakeholders Butler Tech Cincinnati Public Schools Great Oaks Ohio Valley Career and Technical Center Southern Hills Career and Technical Center U.S. Grant Warren County Career Center Post-Secondary Partners Cincinnati State Technical and Community College Miami University (and the regional campuses) Southern State Community College University of Cincinnati (and the regional campuses)
